Spider's Web

The Etymology of Whatspider

The story of WHAT
Once upon a time there was a group of college friends who were really bored. It was late at night in a small midwestern town, and they were all feeling the effects of too much sugar, too much caffeine, and too little sleep. Typical of dorm life. By morning, each of these students had a new name, all of them being question words and pronouns. What was assigned to me.

The Story of SPIDER
I don't like spiders. I did once have a pet spider named Brian. That, however, is not the origin of the name. The origin lies, again, in a slightly neurotic friend. One day in eighth grade, out of absolutely nowhere, my best friend informed me that I smile like a spider. Spider I have been ever since. An interesting note- one of the many ways of saying "you're crazy" in German is "du spinnst." The verb (conjugated in this form as spinnst) comes from the word for spider (or spinner).

How the Two Combined
This one's basic. I needed a screen name. All my many nicknames were taken. I chose the most important two and stuck them together, knowing there was no way whatspider was taken.
