I Will Not Hold My Breath
But The Boss said that my predecessor knows all about the place. The messages are getting jumbled, but I called the predecessor in question (she's now at the Chamber in Town Next Door), and she gave me some tips.
Anyway, I called the number on the sign, and the lady faxed me an application. In spite of my form phobia, the application is now nearly filled out. She said they weren't showing it yet, because the current renters haven't moved. The current renter happens to be Predecessor's sister-in-law. Hmm. Maybe I can get a heads-up from her.
The best part: I could walk/ride my bike to work, Coffee Place, the supermarket, the drug store, and maybe even church. I'd really only have to drive to get to small group, the parents' house, Grandma's house, meetings with SM or Counselor, and the occasional visit to the chiropractor or haircut guy.
The worst part: I am so nervous about what last year did to my credit.
And for that reason alone, I am not going to get my hopes up.
