Who are the People in Your Neighborhood?

So tonight, Counselor and I were talking for a bit about the day when I'll be ready to be on my own. Strange, that day is coming a heck of a lot faster than I expected. It was kinda sad. Even she was kinda sad. It's nice to be liked. *grin*

*Drumroll*

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for! (Well, at least since yesterday) The little house pictured two posts down is, indeed, my future home! It is a duplex, so the apartment is teeny, but it's so very cute. And since there's only one of me, and since I got rid of a LOT of stuff when I moved in October, teeny is just fine. In fact, since there's no central air or heat, teeny is good. That means my fan and the space heater that comes with the place won't have to work so hard!

As I said before, it's in the Historic District of Town of Employment. To get to work, I will merely have to walk through the not so big Civic Center, then cross the street. Seriously. And on those really long Thursdays with the breakfasts? Yeah, The breakfast is IN the Civic Center. Gee. Not sure I can handle the commute!

In addition to the Civic Center and the Chamber office, my immediate neighborhood will include a supermarket, a drug store, Subway, a taco place, the park that hosts Music in the Park during the summer, the street where the potential Farmer's Market will be held, the post office, the sheriff and fire stations, a pizza place, a Japanese restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a BBQ place, a dollar store, two haircut places, the Wellness Center (to which I may just convert for massages, since I know the owner and it's right there), the wine shop (if it stays there, which is in the air right now)... You get the picture. Oh, and let's not forget the world's most famous convenience store. Yeah, it's across the street from City Hall.

Coffee place is like two blocks away. Probably a ten to twenty minute walk, or an easy bike ride. Church is a little farther, maybe ten to twenty minutes by bike. Still very close.

The previous Administrative Assistant lives two doors west. My friends Mike & Staci live two streets north. I'll be a little farther from small group, but we're talking three miles. No big deal. Not like when it was a twenty minute freeway drive.

My mom thinks she's decorating the place. Um. Not so much.

One month!!

That's great--to live somewhere you can mostly walk and bike anyplace. Yay! And the massages don't sound so bad...
